Julian Draxler, the German international, has officially left Paris Saint-Germain as he joins Qatar’s Al Ahli SC in a permanent transfer.
After spending nearly six years attempting to revive his career at PSG, Julian Draxler departs the club in a rather understated manner. PSG issued a statement expressing their well wishes for Draxler’s future endeavors.
Draxler began his professional journey with Schalke 04 and later moved to VfL Wolfsburg. He joined Paris Saint-Germain in January 2017, amassing 198 appearances, 26 goals, and 41 assists during his tenure in the French capital. His next destination will be Benfica Lisbonne, where he embarks on a loan spell for the 2023-2024 season.
Born in Gladbeck, Germany, Draxler won a total of 12 trophies with PSG, including 4 Ligue 1 titles (2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022), 4 Coupe de France titles (2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021), 3 Coupe de la Ligue titles (2017, 2018, and 2020), and 1 Trophée des Champions (2020).
Draxler, a World Cup champion with Germany in 2014, has earned 58 caps and scored 7 goals for the national team.
