In an interview with several media outlets, PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi addresses the hot topics surrounding PSG: relations with the Mbappé family and Messi’s critiques.

Messi, feeling unhappy in Paris, not well-regarded, not celebrated after the World Cup… The Argentine has criticized PSG in recent weeks. But this doesn’t seem to bother PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, who responds diplomatically.

“There’s a lot of talk outside, I don’t know what he did or didn’t say. As everyone saw – we even released a video – we celebrated Messi in training (when he won the World Cup), and we also celebrated him privately,” Al-Khelaïfi said.

“But with respect – we are a French club. It was, of course, sensitive to celebrate at the stadium. We must respect the country he defeated – his teammates from the French national team, and our supporters too. But he was celebrated, and he’s an incredible player – we were proud to have him here,” he added about the Argentine international.

NAK (Nasser Al-Khelaïfi) then wanted to ease tensions with Mbappé and his family. “The problems we’ve had stay within the family, and Kylian is part of the family. I’m proud of what he’s doing – and what the whole team is doing. We have the best player in the world, and for me, he deserves the Ballon d’Or,” concluded the PSG boss. The message is clear.
