Christophe Galtier has spoken for the first time since his departure from PSG last summer. In the Canal Football Club, the former PSG coach gives his version of events.

On the controversies: “When I arrived in Paris, we were there to win matches, to make history with the club, to try to go further in the Champions League. That’s what we prepared for. But can you prepare for everything that happened afterward? No one is prepared. The land sailing? It was humor that we can have among ourselves, and it was especially humor that should not have been made public, especially not at that time. I’m very careful about the environment. But I will clarify one thing. When you are the coach of PSG, you have around 500 media appearances, but what they remember is the land sailing.”

What hurt me the most? “When the management decided to replace me. I said I would make an effort to remember only the good, and there was a lot of good in Paris. Honestly, I only remember the good, and I have many beautiful memories of my time at Paris Saint-Germain. Did I enjoy coaching PSG? Yes. I worked with a very good group, contrary to what the media did. Everything is exaggerated. From a spark, we make a volcano; from a word, we make a novel. And from a gesture, it’s a film. I am especially proud of one thing: having contributed to winning this eleventh historic title.”

Luis Enrique: “It wasn’t easy in the first few weeks. After that, I think when Luis Enrique arrived, he came with the image of the Spain national team coach and the Barcelona coach, with whom he won the most prestigious trophies. He was better equipped than me, end of story. After that, there were a lot of movements, departures. It had to come together. But now, it’s underway,” said the former Lille coach.

Racism: “It’s false, completely false. People in football know me, the players know me, the leaders know me, we know who I am.” “I will explain myself,” he added, referring to the hearing before the Nice criminal court scheduled for December 15th.
