As part of cost-cutting measures, INEOS, co-owner of Manchester United, has terminated Sir Alex Ferguson’s ambassador contract, which was worth several million euros per year.

Despite this decision, according to The Athletic, Ferguson, the legendary manager of the Red Devils from 1986 to 2013, will retain his position as a non-executive director at the club and will continue to be welcome at Old Trafford for matches.

This move has sparked outrage from former United star Eric Cantona. “Sir Alex Ferguson should be able to do whatever he wants at the club until his death. What a lack of respect. It’s totally outrageous. Sir Alex Ferguson will always be my boss! And I throw all of them (the club’s management) into a big bag of crap!” Cantona expressed on Instagram.
