An incensed Cristiano Ronaldo signaled for the referee to be replaced during Al-Nassr’s 1-0 victory over Al-Ettifaq in the King Cup of Champions quarter-finals.

Ronaldo was infuriated by the referee’s performance in the closing stages of the first half of the match.

His teammate Talisca had appeared to have given Al-Nassr the lead in stoppage time at the end of the first half. The Brazilian turned in a cross at the back post, and his goal was initially awarded by Chilean referee Piero Maza.

However, his effort was disallowed following a VAR review, with Ronaldo deemed to be offside and interfering with play. Ronaldo gestured to the bench for a substitution and then pointed at the referee.
