Under contract with Saudi Pro League’s current third-placed team, al-Nassr, until June 2025, Cristiano Ronaldo has a plan for his future.
CR7’s retirement isn’t coming anytime soon. At 38 years old, the Portuguese superstar is not ready to hang up his boots just yet and plans to keep playing for a while.
Ronaldo has reportedly set his retirement date for… 2027. This extension would allow him to participate in the 2026 World Cup, hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, featuring 48 teams for the first time.
« Cristiano Ronaldo wants to play in the 2026 World Cup while he is a player at Al-Nassr, and then he will announce his retirement from football, » said Saudi journalist Ali Al-Harbi.
« I still love football, even at my age. I still love playing, scoring goals, winning matches, and I will continue until my legs tell me it’s over. So far, I feel good; I’m still helping the team, but the most important thing for me is that we won the match (against Al-Ahli), » Ronaldo recently stated when asked about his future.
