Napoli’s President’s U-Turn on Firing Rudi Garcia

The situation in Naples is complex, as President Aurelio De Laurentiis appears to have changed his mind about firing Rudi Garcia.

Aurelio De Laurentiis continues with his outspoken statements. The President of Naples didn’t hide the fact that he had a strained relationship with Rudi Garcia, his coach. He stated, “I’m going through a tough time with him. I’m an entrepreneur, and I have a duty to focus on my business. The coach and the sporting director are at your service. I will make the most appropriate decisions when the time comes.”

“When you hire a coach who is no longer familiar with Italian football, perhaps he has difficulties. That would have happened to anyone else. My only responsibility, apart from choosing the coach, is not having had the chance to be close to him,” said Aurelio De Laurentiis.

So, the two had a high-level meeting, and it seemed that the separation was a done deal, with Antonio Conte set to take over the helm. However, Conte declined. As a result, the President of Naples, lacking a better option, will keep Rudi Garcia.
