Eden Hazard Announces Retirement

End of suspense: Eden Hazard has announced that he will no longer play professional football.

It marks the end of an era for Belgium. Eden Hazard declared his retirement on Tuesday, at the age of just 32, despite several clubs wanting to relaunch the player who left Real Madrid last summer after four disappointing years.

“You have to know how to listen to yourself and say stop at the right moment. After 16 years of my career and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my professional footballer career. I was able to fulfill my dream, play, and have fun on the fields across Europe and the world,” he initially explained on his social media.

“It is now time to enjoy my loved ones and experience new things. See you soon off the pitch.”

“Throughout my career, I have met wonderful people, leaders, coaches, teammates, and I would like to thank especially the clubs I have been through: LOSC, Chelsea, and Real Madrid, and of course, thank the Belgian National Team,” he added.
