Under contract with Manchester City until June 2025, Pep Guardiola has expressed to ESPN his desire to lead a national team in the near future.

In an interview with ESPN, Pep Guardiola discusses his desire: to take over a national team after his contract with Manchester City. The Spanish coach notably expresses his wish to experience being a national team coach in a World Cup, Euro, or Copa America. And it could be anyone: “whoever wants me,” he says.

“I don’t know who wants me (laughs). To work for a national team, they have to want you, just like with clubs. When I started, I wasn’t thinking about winning championships or the Champions League. I thought: ‘if I have a job, that’s good.'”

“I would like to experience a World Cup, a Euro, a Copa America, whatever. I would like to experience that. I don’t know if it will be in five, ten, or fifteen years.” But time is ticking for Pep, who is already 53 years old…
