Brazilian Football Player Fatally Shot in Street

Brazilian football is in mourning following the tragic death of 21-year-old forward Felipe Diogo.

According to local media reports, the Sao Bernardo FC player, who had just returned from his vacation, was the victim of an armed attack in his hometown of Ribeirao Preto.

While local authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding this murder, his club, which competes in the Brazilian third division, paid tribute to him.

“Sao Bernardo Football Club deeply regrets the passing of our athlete Felipe Diogo Bernardes Ferreira, known as Felipe Diogo. May God comfort his family’s heart during this time of great sadness,” announced the club on their social media. A former player for prominent Brazilian clubs such as Cruzeiro and Botafogo, the Brazilian had joined Sao Bernardo the previous season and made a significant contribution to the club’s promotion to the third division. In total, he played 18 matches and scored 4 goals.
