Al-Hilal to Receive Compensation for Neymar’s Injury

During the match between Uruguay and Brazil, Neymar suffered a serious knee injury, including ligament and meniscus damage to his left knee.

This injury is expected to sideline him for at least 6 to 9 months. This situation poses a significant setback for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, as the club acquired Neymar last summer from PSG in a transfer that cost nearly 100 million euros, including bonuses.

Neymar’s injury occurred during a FIFA match with the Seleção, which could trigger a program aimed at protecting clubs in such situations.

Under this program, if a player is injured during a FIFA-organized match and cannot play for 28 days, it could lead to financial compensation for his club. The mentioned sum for compensation is 7.5 million euros, which appears relatively modest when compared to Neymar’s transfer fee and salary.
